How Safe is the Journey Share Facility?
The Journey Share facility is open only to parents with children at participating schools. It exists solely to assist parents in identifying local school run journey share partners.
School Journeys do not assess the suitability of parents to participate in the scheme and disclaims any liability in connection therewith. However, we have designed this facility with the following precautions.
- Only your school has access to the ID number and password allocated to you which enable you to initially access the facility. The password is a composite of information known only to parents and the school.
- All data is held on a secure database with a firewall to restrict hacking.
- We will never shares individual email addresses with any third parties, including advertisers or partners, without your consent.
- Initial contact with potential journey share partners is done by secure email, which means that an email is sent to you without the person mailing being able to see your email address.
- Our terms and conditions outline the use of the facility.
How Safe are the School Travel Surveys?
When a survey requires some for of ID, we use the same ID code system as our Journey Share facility, which has the same guarantees of anonymity:
- Only your school has access to the password allocated to you which enable you to access the survey.
- If you are given an ID number to use in a survey, only your school has access to which ID number relates to which parent, student, or staff member.
- All data is held on a secure database with a firewall to restrict hacking.
- If emails are asked for in a survey, we will never shares individual email addresses with any third parties, including advertisers or partners, without your consent.
